#16 Wikis

I am a big fan of wikipedia. I don’t use it for an official resource for patrons but I do sometimes use it as a starting point to put me in the right direction. I think having a wiki for the local library is a great idea. I liked the quote by Meredith Farkas “the resulting website would reflect the imagination and good ideas of the entire organization, not just a select few with the requisite “tech-savvy.” I think libraries would benefit by having both a community wiki and an internal wike. It would reflect the thoughts, ideas, and interest of the library and the library’s community. I think having a subject wiki is a super idea. I have been wondering how to share and continue to use all the great online resources I have discovered during LATI and having a subject wiki just might be the way to go.
